Finding the Best Divorce Lawyer

There are certain attributes that you should look for in a divorce attorney. Of course, these attributes may vary depending on your needs and goals. However, primarily, you should look for an attorney who has a number of the following qualifications and/or characteristics:

(1) is certified by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey as a matrimonial law attorney;

(2) is a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (and even better, has held an office therein);

(3) is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (“AAML”);

(4) lectures frequently to the bench, bar and public;

(5) routinely publishes scholarly articles on family law;

(6) has practiced for more than ten years and has concentrated his/her practice in family law during that time;

(7) responds to your calls and is organized, detail oriented, and a compassionate advocate who works well with other attorneys;

(8) is recognized and has high ratings by Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell, Avvo or other recognized attorney rating organizations;

(9) is recognized by his or her peers by way of awards and honors; and

(10) has a reputation for ethical and professional practice.

Over the years I have gained all of the above attributes and would be honored to represent you in your Family matter. See a more comprehensive article I’ve written on this matter.
