Charles F. Vuotto, Jr. is of counsel in the Family Law Practice Group at A.Y. Strauss. With nearly four decades of experience devoted to family and matrimonial law, Chuck has built a distinguished career representing clients in some of New Jersey’s most complex and financially sophisticated divorce matters. He is widely respected for his depth of knowledge, meticulous preparation, and unwavering responsiveness.

Chuck’s practice centers on financially intricate divorce and family law matters involving business valuation, executive compensation, stock options, marital lifestyle analysis, and related financial issues. A Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and a qualified mediator and arbitrator, he approaches each case with precision, responsiveness, and strategic foresight. Known for his proactive, detail-oriented style, Chuck translates complex financial concepts into clear legal strategies and keeps clients closely informed throughout every stage of the process.

Throughout his career, Chuck has made significant contributions to the advancement of family law in New Jersey. A Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and member of the Matrimonial Lawyers Alliance, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Section and Editor-in-Chief of New Jersey Family Lawyer. He has also served on multiple New Jersey Supreme Court committees focused on improving family law practice and arbitration procedures statewide.

A prolific author and lecturer, he has written more than 100 articles and presented extensively for leading professional organizations, sharing insight on issues such as equitable distribution, marital lifestyle, retirement, and the intersection of family law and finance. His contributions have been recognized with the Saul Tischler Award for lifetime achievement in family law, the Edward Schoifet Family Law Award, and the Union County Service Award for over 30 years of service as an Early Settlement Panelist. Prior to joining A.Y. Strauss, Chuck was of counsel at Starr, Gern, Davison & Rubin, PC. Before this, he served as Managing Partner and co-founder of Tonneman, Vuotto, Enis & White, LLC. Chuck also previously practiced at both a large regional full-service law firm and a respected matrimonial law practice.
